Carrying Case for PlayStation Portal Remote Player

Carrying Case for PlayStation Portal Remote Player Price in Kenya, Full Specifications and Review (2026)

The Carrying Case for PlayStation Portal Remote Player price in Kenya is KSh 5,500. It is a protective case made to fit the PlayStation Portal, Sony’s handheld that streams PS5 games over Wi-Fi. It keeps the Portal’s 8-inch screen, thumbsticks and controller grips safe when it’s tossed in a bag, carried around the house or taken on a trip.

A case is worth having because of the Portal’s shape. It is essentially a DualSense controller split around a large screen, so the screen, sticks and triggers all stick out with nothing to shield them. Scratched screens and knocked thumbsticks are the most common damage on handhelds carried without protection. The Portal itself costs KSh 36,500 at Phonesstore Kenya, so a KSh 5,500 case protects a device worth more than six times as much.

The comparison at Phonesstore Kenya is the PS5 Controller Cover at KSh 1,500. Both are protective accessories for PlayStation gear, but they do different jobs. The controller cover guards a DualSense against everyday wear, while the Portal case is built to carry and protect a full handheld during travel.

You can buy the Carrying Case for PlayStation Portal Remote Player from Phonesstore Kenya, where it is available with competitive pricing and nationwide delivery across Kenya.

Why the PlayStation Portal Needs a Case

The PlayStation Portal has an 8-inch LCD screen showing 1080p at up to 60fps, flanked by full DualSense controls: thumbsticks, adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. Its wide shape means the screen and sticks are exposed on all sides. Carried loose in a backpack alongside keys, chargers or books, the screen can scratch and the thumbsticks can take knocks that wear them over time. A shaped case surrounds the device so nothing presses on the screen or sticks.

The Portal also travels more than people expect. It streams games from a PS5 at home over Wi-Fi, and owners often carry it between rooms, to a friend’s house or on trips to play remotely. Remote play depends on a strong internet connection: Sony recommends at least 5Mbps, with 15Mbps or more for the best experience, so it works best on solid home Wi-Fi or fibre.

Build and Protection

Sony’s official PlayStation Portal case uses a hard shell exterior to resist bumps and pressure, with a quilted interior that cushions the device and helps prevent scratches. A pocket inside holds a USB cable, so the Portal and its charging cable travel together. If the case stocked is a third-party version, its materials and features may differ, and buyers should confirm the details with the store.

Compatibility

The case is made for the PlayStation Portal Remote Player. It is not designed for other handhelds, such as the Nintendo Switch, Switch 2 or PC gaming handhelds, which have different shapes and sizes.

Who Is the PlayStation Portal Carrying Case For?

Ideal for:

• PlayStation Portal owners who carry it around the house, to friends’ homes or on trips
• Owners who want to protect the Portal’s screen and thumbsticks from scratches and knocks
• Anyone who wants to keep the Portal and its charging cable together

Not ideal for:

• Owners who keep the Portal permanently at home on a shelf
• Users of other handhelds, since it is made for the Portal
• Buyers who want a case with room for extra accessories beyond a cable

Pros and Cons

The Carrying Case for PlayStation Portal Remote Player has genuine strengths at KSh 5,500. It is shaped to fit the Portal and protects its exposed screen, thumbsticks and grips. The official Sony version has a hard shell exterior, a quilted interior and a USB cable pocket. It keeps the Portal and its charging cable together, and it protects a KSh 36,500 device for a fraction of its price.

Its main limitations are that whether it is the official Sony case or a third-party version needs confirming. It is made for the PlayStation Portal only, dimensions and weight are not specified, and storage beyond a cable pocket is limited.

PlayStation Portal Carrying Case vs PS5 Controller Cover

These are both protective PlayStation accessories, but they protect different devices in different ways. The Portal Carrying Case, at KSh 5,500, is a travel case shaped for the PlayStation Portal, protecting its screen, sticks and grips when it’s carried around. The PS5 Controller Cover, at KSh 1,500, is a cover for the DualSense controller, protecting it from everyday wear during play. Portal owners who also use a DualSense may want both.

For PlayStation Portal owners, the carrying case is the accessory that matters most, protecting a KSh 36,500 device on the move; the controller cover is a low-cost add-on for anyone who wants to keep their DualSense looking new.
