Xiaomi Redmi 10 Power
The Xiaomi Redmi 10 Power is a new midrange, with a great value proposition. It packs a very fast snapdragon 680 chipset, a huge 6.7-inch LCD screen, a great 50MP primary camera, a huge 6000 mAh battery, 18W fast charging, and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. At its price, it’s truly a great bargain.
Design
The Xiaomi Redmi 10 Power comes with a 6.7-inch LCD screen with a dew drop design for the selfie camera. It has a screen-to-body ratio of 81.7% and is quite bright and vivid, peaking at 450 nits with an aspect ratio of 20:9, and supports HD10+ which makes it an absolute delight to consume media with. It has a plastic frame and back, and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 front panel. Like many Xiaomi Redmi phones, it comes with an IR blaster and, fortunately, a headphone jack. It has a physical fast fingerprint sensor, conveniently placed on the rear. It has a downward-firing speaker, which is great for playing media.
Performance
The Xiaomi Redmi 10 Power brings in the heat with the midrange Snapdragon 680 4G chipset, making it very fast and decent for gaming. It has a Cortex Octa-core CPU paired with an Adreno 610 GPU, with storage options of 4 GB for RAM & 64 or 128 GB for ROM. It also comes with a dedicated expandable memory option, which is a plus. Running the latest Android 11 with an MIUI 13 skin on top, the performance feels very fast and premium. No lags or slow transitions on this one. Everything feels fast, fluid, and rich in color.
Cameras
The Xiaomi Redmi 10 Power has a dual camera arrangement on the back. It comes with a huge 50 MP wide primary sensor, for those excellent daylight photos. There is an extra 2MP depth sensor to add bokeh or portrait effect on the photos. The video can support 1080p video at 30 fps, with HDR support & gyro-EIS stability assistance. The selfie camera is a decent 5MP wide sensor, capable of 1080p video at 30fps. The selfies are great and well-lit.
Other features
We can’t fail to mention the charging speeds in the Xiaomi Redmi 10 Power. At 18W fast charging, the phone can get fully charged in about an hour. That’s fairly usable. That in addition to the fact that it also comes with a Li-Po 5000mAh non-removable battery, which is rather generous. Even with a power user, this should be more than enough. Of course, there is no wireless charging here. It supports NFC for contactless paying. It comes in Carbon Gray, Pebble White, and Sea Blue
Similarly, priced phones would include Tecno Pova Neo, Nokia G21, the Oppo A16K, and Realme C25Y. the main distinction at this price point is often a choice of a better camera or more memory. The sizes are usually standard and the batteries are often huge. It’s unlikely there are fast charging options as the price is too competitive.
The design is great, but the design allure of a quad camera is very misleading, though it does great for the aesthetics. The OS will feel right at home, especially if you have used a Xiaomi phone before.
