The Reno 5 smartphone supports four network technologies. These are GSM, HSPA, and LTE, and 5G. HSPA extends and improves the performance of existing 3G mobile telecommunication networks using the WCDMA protocols. LTE  is a standard for wireless broadband communication for mobile devices and data terminals, based on the GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSPA technologies.

Global System for Mobile Communications is a standard developed by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute to describe the protocols for second-generation digital cellular networks used by mobile devices such as mobile phones and tablets.

A phone platform is the hardware/software environment for tablets, smartphones, and other portable devices. Oppo Reno 5 runs on the Android 11, ColorOS 11.1 operating system. Android 11 is the eleventh major release and 18th version of Android, the mobile operating system developed by the Open Handset Alliance led by Google. Also powering the Reno 5 is an Octa-core (1×2.4 GHz Kryo 475 Prime & 1×2.2 GHz Kryo 475 Gold & 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 475 Silver), Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G (7 nm) chipset.

Under the hood, it also brings an Adreno 620 GPU. The Qualcomm Adreno 620 is a mobile graphics card for upper mid-range smartphones and tablets (mostly Android-based). It is included in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G and 765 SoCs and based on the Adreno 600 architecture. The Reno 5 comes with 128GB with 8GB RAM, or 256GB with 12GB RAM. There are five cameras on the Oppo Reno 5. They are made up of a main 64 MP, f/1.7, (wide), 1/1.73″, 0.8µm, PDAF, 8 MP, f/2.2, (ultrawide), 1/4.0″, 1.12µm, 2 MP, f/2.4, (macro), and a 2 MP, f/2.4, (depth). Its main feature is LED flash, panorama, HDR and it can shoot video up to 4K@30fps with the main camera, and 1080p@30fps also with the selfie. Speaking of the selfie, on Reno 5 there is a single 44 MP shooter.

Oppo Reno 5 has a respectable Li-Po 4300 mAh, non-removable battery with fast charging 15W. It is a lasting battery given its 4,300 mAh capacity. Here is fast charging 50W and reverse charging. But the Reno 5G is still a fantastic phone. I can’t recommend 5G right now, but if you are desperate to be an early adopter the Reno 5G is the cheapest way to go about it. For everyone else, the 10x zoom is a much better deal.
