Preface

The price of the OnePlus Nord N100 in Kenya is 21,500 shillings. The Nord N100 Android Smartphone runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor with Adreno 610 GPU. The phone has 6 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage which is expandable using microSDXC. It also runs on Android 10 and is powered by a Li-Po 5000 mAh battery.

The Nord N100 measures 164.9 x 75.1 x 8.5 mm (height x width x thickness) with a total weight of 188 grams. Coming to cameras, it has a triple 13MP rear camera and a single 8 MP front camera for selfies. This phone has a 6.52 inches, 720 x 1600 pixels IPS LCD Screen with a pixel density of 269 PPI. It has a 3.1, Type-C 1.0 port for data syncing and charging. There is a fingerprint sensor present on the Nord N100 smartphone. It is a dual SIM smartphone with support for 4G, Wi-Fi, and GPS too.

Launch

This phone, OnePlus Nord N100 was released on 2020, November 11. This phone has a 164.9 x 75.1 x 8.5 mm dimension and weighs about 188 grams. It is also a Dual SIM smartphone that uses Nano-SIM and has a dual standby. On the front is a hole punch display wherein the selfie camera lie. Its back panel has a triple-camera module on the right-hand side. As for the fingerprint scanner, there is a rear-mounted one.

OnePlus Nord N100 comes in the color Midnight Frost ONLY. It makes use of the 2.0, Type-C 1.0,  USB On-The-Go reversible connector, and has a 3.5 mm jack. The phone also has Bluetooth version 5.0, A2DP, LE, and GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS. It also supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot. As for radio (FM), it does come with it.

Display

Now, let us take a look at the display this phone has to offer. Everyone loves a good display on a phone for obvious reasons. Namely, the display is the one part of a phone you will ever interact with. OnePlus Nord N100 has a fine display panel that measures 6.52 inches, 102.6 cm². It is an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen that supports 16M colors, 90Hz refresh rate, and multi-touch. This display has a decent 720 x 1600 pixels resolution and an equally fair 269 PPI density. As for the selfie camera, it is inside that hole punch on the top right corner. This phone’s build is plastic with a glass front, and plastic back, plastic frame.

Platform

A phone platform is the hardware/software environment for tablets, smartphones, and other portable devices. OnePlus Nord N100 runs on Android 10, with a planned upgrade to the Android 10 operating system. Android 10 is the tenth major release and the 17th version of the Android mobile operating system. It was released on September 3, 2019. Also powering OnePlus Nord N100 is an Octa-core (4×1.8 GHz Kryo 240 & 4×1.6 GHz Kryo 240), Snapdragon 460 (11 nm) chipset. This version of Android it runs is based on OxygenOS 10.5.

Under the hood, it also brings an Adreno 610 GPU. The Qualcomm Adreno 610 is a mobile graphics card for mid-range smartphones and tablets (mostly Android-based). It is included in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoCs and based on the Adreno 600 architecture – source. OnePlus Nord N100 comes with 64GB 4 RAM. You can still expand its storage using a dedicated micro SD slot.

Network

The OnePlus Nord N100 smartphone supports four network technologies. These are GSM, HSPA, and LTE. HSPA extends and improves the performance of existing 3G mobile telecommunication networks using the WCDMA protocols. LTE  is a standard for wireless broadband communication for mobile devices and data terminals, based on the GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSPA technologies.

Global System for Mobile Communications is a standard developed by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute to describe the protocols for second-generation digital cellular networks used by mobile devices such as mobile phones and tablets. Cameras

There are four cameras on OnePlus Nord N100. They are made up of a main 13 MP, f/2.2, (wide), PDAF, a 2 MP, f/2.4, (macro), and a 2 MP, f/2.4, (depth). Its main feature is LED flash, HDR, and panorama and it can shoot video up to 1080p@30fps with the main camera as well as the selfie. The LED flash in a mobile phone is a constant light source for the screen. The selfie shooter is an 8 MP, f/2.0 shooter. With it, video recording is up to 1080p@30fps.

Battery

OnePlus Nord N100 has a non-removable Li-Po 5000 mAh battery. This battery should be enough to last a whole day of mixed usage – see also Nord N10 5G. Expect normal charging speeds here at 10W.
