OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G Review
OnePlus has recently introduced its latest budget-friendly smartphone, the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G, succeeding its predecessor Nord CE 2 Lite. The budget-friendly segment of the Indian smartphone market is highly competitive, and it will be fascinating to see how the Nord CE 3 Lite 5G will hold up against its rivals. In the package, we received the phone, a SIM ejector pin, documentation, a clear silicone case, an 80W charger, and a Type-A to Type-C data cable.
Design and Display
Regarding design and display, the new OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G bears a resemblance to the recently launched Realme 10 Pro, particularly in terms of the placement of camera sensors. The cameras are placed in the same dual circular components. A larger aperture and a more centralized flash position have been added. The phone is missing the signature alert slider present on other OnePlus phones. We were given the Chromatic Grey variant, which adds to the phone’s aesthetic appeal. The phone’s all-plastic body design makes it light and easy to carry around. Corning Gorilla Glass protects the display. The front features a flat glass display with a large cutout in the center top for the front camera. On the sides, the Nord CE 3 Lite has a power button on the right that also serves as a fingerprint sensor, rather than having it incorporated into the display.
On the left, a dual SIM tray and volume buttons are present. At the top of the phone is a microphone and a slim grille. At the bottom lies a second microphone, the other loudspeaker, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Type-C port. The One Plus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G has a massive 6.72-inch IPS LCD display coupled with a resolution of 1800 x 2400 pixels on the screen with 120Hz refresh rate support. The screen can adjust the refresh rate between 30Hz to 120Hz, depending on the content consumed. With a peak brightness of 680 nits, the display is visible outdoors comfortably. In terms of color reproduction, the display is good, producing bright and vivid colors for a budget-friendly phone. The lack of HDR support is a disadvantage, as it could have given the company an edge over other smartphones in the same range. Nonetheless, the standard quality content streamed from Amazon and Netflix is still enjoyable.
Performance
OnePlus has launched its new Nord CE 3 Lite 5G, which is a successor to the Nord CE 2 Lite. The phone chipset is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 695, similar thing that you would find in the Realme 10 Pro and the Nord CE 2 Lite. The processor experience is identical to that of Realme 10 Pro, and it can handle every task with ease, whether it’s multitasking or gaming.
The Nord CE 3 Lite 5G operates on OxygenOS 13.1 on top of Android 13, with a user-friendly interface, similar to other OnePlus devices we have assessed. The Adreno 619 supports the phone for gaming. We tested the phone on Battle Royale titles with good graphics quality, but we suggest playing games with normal requirements as higher quality games slowed down the phone.
This device comes in an 8GB of RAM and 256GB of external storage that can be expanded upto 1TB of storage with microSD expansion. You also have an option for virtual memory expansion, giving you the opportunity to create a 4/6/8GB page file on the storage to swap from when the device runs out of system memory.
Camera
The Nord CE 3 Lite 5G is equipped with three rear camera sensors, with the primary camera being 108MP with an aperture of f/1.75. The second camera you will find a 2MP macro lens that has an aperture of f/2.4, and the third camera is a 2MP depth sensor with an aperture of f/2.4. However, the phone lacks an ultra-wide lens. Under daylight conditions, the main rear camera sensor produces high-quality images, maintaining excellent color and contrast levels.
The back camera with the ability to zoom in till 3 times, this particular detail can provide you with a lot of precisions when taking photos but still maintaining the details on the camera. When you want to capture details at night consider using the night mode on your camera settings since it will ensure that you get better and decent photos. Generally you are going to enjoy the quality of images and videos taken using the camera. At the front you will come across the selfie camera that has a 16megapixel camera lens with an aperture of f/2.4 that can provide amazing photos with attention to details.
Battery Capacity
The Nord CE 3 Lite 5G is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that can last throughout the day with a single charge on average use. You will notice that you are given your new phone with a 80W charger to enable you to power up your device anytime the power is down.
