NOKIA C2 TAVA
The price of the Nokia Nokia C2 Tava in Kenya is 7,500 shillings. It was released in 2020, May 29 alongside Nokia C2 Tennen. C2 Tava comes with some average specifications and a little of everything else. These are 2 GB RAM, a dual-camera, and a Type C connector. This is quite an interesting device, offering Nokia’s design language at very affordable pricing. Let’s take a look at the review.

Screen and design
The Nokia C2 Tava comes with the older design 5.45 inch, IPS LCD capacitive screen with a plastic build. The back is also plastic, and with the lack of the back fingerprint sensor, one can choose to unlock the phone with a pattern, pin or face unlock. The screen has a very conspicuous bezel in addition to the chin and forehead, getting the screen to body ratio to about 70.3%. The back hosts the middle centered dual-camera bump that we will get to in a few. The resolution maxes out at 720 x 1440 pixels. Below the screen ports the downward-firing speaker, the Type C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Nokia C2 Tava went with the entry-level chip Mediatek MT6761 Helio A22 chip with a 2.0GHz Cortex A53 quad-core CPU and PowerVR GE8320 GPU. Paired up with the SoC is the storage of 2GB RAM and 16/32GB internal storage, not to forget an expandable dedicated memory slot of up to 64GB via microSD card. This set up should offer basic computational power for average use, with nothing much left for intensive tasks. Official product website.
The Nokia C2 Tava comes with a dual camera set up, the primary camera being an 8mp wide-angle lens plus a 2mp shooter. It’s capable of taking HD images and 720p video at 30fps. The images are bound to be decent and hardly of average quality, but they are usable. The front-facing camera is a basic 5mp camera. The images can be grainy and not colorful enough, but nothing some good lighting can’t improve. It is also capable of 720p video – see also Nokia C2 Tennen.
The Nokia C2 Tava has a decent 3000 mAh removable Li-Po battery. Unexpectedly, despite having a USB Type C connector, we contend with the 10W standard charging, which takes about 2 hours to charge the phone from 0-100%. The battery might not be much but it can last the average user a full day and still have some left. It is not exactly a power user device.
The Nokia C2 Tava comes with stock Android 10 which is often good news. It comes with zero bloatware, which makes it such a joy to use. The interaction is very intuitive, fast, and interactive without the hassle that comes with other android skins. It also gets its updates and patches earlier than other custom ROMs doesn’t need a lot of alteration to deliver a peak experience.
The Nokia C2 Tava supports 4G, has standby dual nano-SIM, FM radio, and active noise cancellation with a dedicated mic. It looks average with a strong feel to the build. It might not offer much, but it seems to be the better choice among its price range. At that price point, there is no need to be nitpicking so you get what you get.
