Switch Lite Silicone Cover for Nintendo

Switch Lite Silicone Cover Price in Kenya, Full Specifications and Review (2026)

The Switch Lite Silicone Cover price in Kenya is KSh 3,500. It is a soft silicone skin that wraps around the Nintendo Switch Lite’s body, protecting the console from scratches, scuffs and everyday bumps while it’s being played. Unlike a carrying case, which only protects the console when it’s packed away, a silicone cover stays on during play, so it guards the console at the moments it’s most likely to be dropped or knocked.

A silicone cover suits the Switch Lite especially well. The Lite is handheld-only, so it spends all its playing time in someone’s hands, often a child’s. Silicone adds grip, making the console less likely to slip during intense moments, and cushions minor drops onto a table or floor. It also covers the plastic shell against scratches and wear, which helps resale value. Because the Lite’s controls are built into the body, damage from a drop means repairing the whole console, so a cushioned shell is cheap insurance.

The comparison at Phonesstore Kenya is the PS5 Controller Cover at KSh 1,500, a protective cover for a different device. Both follow the same idea: a fitted cover that stays on during play to add grip and absorb everyday wear.

How a Silicone Cover Protects the Switch Lite

A silicone cover is a fitted, flexible skin that stretches over the console’s body, with cut-outs for the screen, buttons, thumbsticks, ports, speakers and game card slot. It protects in three ways. Its soft, slightly tacky surface adds grip, so the console is less likely to slip from sweaty or small hands. It covers the plastic shell, preventing scratches and scuffs from tables, bags and rings. And it absorbs some of the shock from minor drops and bumps, such as sliding off a sofa or being knocked off a table.

It is lighter protection than a hard case. A silicone cover helps with everyday knocks but won’t survive a hard fall onto concrete the way a rugged case might.

Screen Protection: Pair It With Tempered Glass

The cover leaves the screen open so it can be seen and touched, which means it doesn’t protect the display itself. For full protection, pair it with a tempered glass screen protector such as the Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Nintendo Switch Lite (KSh 2,000). The glass covers the screen and the silicone covers the body. Owners who carry the Lite in a bag can also add a carrying case for travel, though a silicone-covered Lite may fit tighter in a case designed for the bare console.

Compatibility

The cover is shaped for the Nintendo Switch Lite only. The standard Switch (V1 and V2), the Switch OLED and the Switch 2 are different sizes and shapes, with detachable Joy-Con, so they need different covers. Because the Lite’s controls are built in, its cover is a single piece that wraps the whole console.

Practical Notes

• Heat: the Switch Lite vents heat along its top edge. A well-made cover leaves those vents open, so owners should check the vent cut-outs aren’t blocked, especially in warm weather.
• Cleaning: silicone attracts dust and lint. It can be removed and washed with mild soap and water, then dried fully before refitting.
• Charging and docking: the Lite doesn’t dock, and the cover should leave the USB-C port open for charging.

Who Is the Switch Lite Silicone Cover For?

Ideal for:

• Parents who want to protect a child’s Switch Lite from drops and scratches during play
• Players who want extra grip on the compact Lite
• Owners who want to keep the console’s shell looking new for resale
• Anyone wanting low-cost, always-on protection

Not ideal for:

• Owners of other Switch models, who need different covers
• Anyone needing heavy-duty drop protection or screen protection, which requires a rugged case and screen protector

Pros and Cons

The Silicone Protective Cover for Nintendo Switch Lite has genuine strengths at KSh 3,500. It protects the Switch Lite’s body during play rather than only in storage. It adds grip to reduce slips, cushions minor drops and bumps, prevents scratches and scuffs on the shell, and is removable and washable. It pairs well with a tempered glass screen protector for full coverage.

Its main limitations are that it doesn’t protect the screen and gives lighter protection than a rugged hard case. It fits the Switch Lite only, silicone attracts dust and lint, and colour, thickness and thumb grips are not specified. It may make the Lite too snug for some carrying cases.

Switch Lite Silicone Cover vs PS5 Controller Cover

Both are fitted covers that stay on during play, adding grip and protecting against everyday wear, but they’re made for different devices. The Switch Lite Silicone Cover, at KSh 3,500, wraps the whole Switch Lite, cushioning its body against minor drops and scratches. The PS5 Controller Cover, at KSh 1,500, is a cover for the PS5 DualSense controller, protecting it from scuffs and wear. Neither fits the other device.

For Switch Lite owners, the silicone cover is the right buy, and pairing it with a tempered glass screen protector gives complete, everyday protection.

Can I play with the cover on?
Yes. It is designed to stay on during play, with cut-outs for the buttons, sticks, ports and speakers.

Will it protect the Switch Lite if it’s dropped?
