PS5 Console Covers (Standard Model)

PS5 Console Covers(Standard Model) Price in Kenya, Full Specifications and Review (2026)

The PS5 Console Covers (Standard Model) price in Kenya is KSh 5,500. They are replacement side panels for the original PS5, the larger launch model, and swap out the console’s standard white covers for a new colour. Installation needs no tools: the original covers slide off and the new ones click into place. Sony’s covers come in a range of colours and match the DualSense controller colourways, so the console and controllers can share a look.

Fit is the most important thing to get right. These covers fit only the original PS5 design, the model that launched in 2020. They do not fit the slimmer PS5 Slim or the PS5 Pro, which have different shapes and need their own covers. The original PS5 also has separate covers for the Disc Edition and the Digital Edition, because the disc drive changes the console’s shape. Buyers should check which PS5 they own before ordering.

The comparison at Phonesstore Kenya is the PS5 DualSense Wireless Controller in Gray Camouflage at KSh 11,000. Both are ways to personalise a PS5. The covers restyle the console itself for KSh 5,500, while the Gray Camouflage controller adds a new-look, fully working second controller for KSh 11,000. Many buyers pair the two for a matching setup.

Design and Colour Options

The original PS5 is known for its large white side panels around a black centre. Console covers replace those white panels to give the console a completely different look while keeping the same shape. Sony has released covers in a range of colours, including bold solid colours and camouflage designs, and many match DualSense controller colourways, so the console and controllers can be colour-coordinated. Colour choice matters for practical reasons too: white covers show dust, fingerprints and yellowing over time, while darker covers hide everyday marks better.

The covers come as a pair, one for each side of the console. They simply restyle the PS5 and don’t change how it works.

Compatibility: Check Your PS5 Model First

Compatibility is the main thing to get right. PlayStation 5 has been sold in three designs:

• Original PS5 (2020): the larger launch model. These covers fit this model only.
• PS5 Slim: a smaller redesign with different-shaped covers. These covers don’t fit.
• PS5 Pro: a separate, more powerful model with its own design. These covers don’t fit.

The original PS5 also came as a Disc Edition with a built-in disc drive and a Digital Edition without one. The disc drive bulge changes the cover shape, so Disc Edition and Digital Edition covers are sold as separate versions. An easy way to tell: the original PS5 is noticeably taller and wider than the Slim, and its Disc Edition has a visible disc slot on the front.

Installation

Installation takes a few minutes and needs no tools. With the console switched off, unplugged and laid flat, the stand is removed. Each white cover is then lifted gently at a corner and slid off, and the new covers are lined up and clicked into place. Sony designed the covers to be user-replaceable, so swapping them doesn’t involve opening the console’s internals. Taking the old covers off is also a good opportunity to clear dust from the console’s vents with a soft brush or a gentle blast of air.

Who Are PS5 Console Covers For?

Ideal for:

• Original PS5 owners who want to refresh or personalise their console’s look
• Players who want their console to match a coloured DualSense controller
• Owners whose white covers have scuffed, stained or yellowed
• Gift buyers looking for a useful PS5 accessory

Not ideal for:

• PS5 Slim or PS5 Pro owners, since these covers don’t fit
• Anyone unsure whether they own the Disc or Digital Edition, until they confirm
• Buyers looking for performance or cooling improvements

Pros and Cons

The PlayStation 5 Console Covers (Standard Model) have genuine strengths at KSh 5,500. They give the original PS5 a completely new look, install in minutes without tools, and come as a pair covering both sides. They can be colour-matched with DualSense controllers, replace scuffed or yellowed white covers, and offer an easy chance to dust the console’s vents.

Their main limitations are that they fit only the original PS5, not the Slim or Pro. Disc Edition and Digital Edition covers are separate versions, so buyers must match their console. They are purely cosmetic, with no performance benefit, and the colour and edition stocked need confirming.

PS5 Console Covers vs PS5 DualSense in Gray Camouflage

Both personalise a PS5 setup, in different ways. The Console Covers, at KSh 5,500, restyle the original PS5 itself, replacing its white side panels in minutes without tools. They are purely cosmetic and fit only the original model. The DualSense in Gray Camouflage, at KSh 11,000, is a fully working controller with a camo finish. It adds haptic feedback, adaptive triggers and a built-in microphone, and works with every PS5 model, plus PC and phones. For a matching look, many owners buy both.

For the cheapest way to transform how an original PS5 looks, the console covers are the pick; for a practical upgrade that adds a second controller with a fresh style, the Gray Camouflage DualSense delivers more for the money.
