Vivo Y1s
Vivo Y1S brings competitive pricing to budget phones balancing out the basic features with decent performance and its high capacity batteries. It sports a 6.22 inch IPS LCD screen, decent 3GB RAM, a relative 4030mAh battery, and the decent Helio P35 chipset. That’s certainly eye-catching a device considering its price point
Design
Vivo Y1S comes with a 6.22-inch IPS LCD screen with a dewdrop notch design for the selfie camera. It’s a huge phone, hardly a one-handed operation, with a screen-to-body ratio of 82.6%. It has a plastic frame and back and a scratch-resistant front panel. It is very bright and vivid, peaking at 500 nits. It’s not rated for splash protection, but it’s certainly not waterproof. Fortunately, it has top-placed a headphone jack. It does not have a physical fingerprint sensor if that is a serious consideration on your part. It has a downward-firing speaker, which is great for playing media.
Performance
Vivo Y1S comes with the budget Mediatek Helio P35, making it decently fast. It has a Cortex Octa-core A53 CPU paired with a PowerVR GE8320 GPU, with storage options of 2/3 GB for RAM & 32 GB for ROM. It also comes with a dedicated expandable memory option. It is running the latest Android 11, with Funtouch 10.5 skin on top. The performance is relatively fast, smooth, and rich in color. It however comes with lots of pre-installed apps, which can be an underwhelming experience, especially if you are not used to bloatware. The OS is however very customizable, with tones of themes and other customizations.
Cameras
Vivo Y1S has a dual-camera arrangement on the back. It comes with a 13MP primary sensor, for those excellent daylight photos. It still delivers decently and colorfully. It will predictably deliver less and less as light reduces, but that’s the concession for this price. The video can support up to 1080p video at 30 fps, with HDR support. The selfie camera is a decent 5MP wide sensor, capable of 1080p video at 30fps. The selfies are great and well-lit.
Other features
The Vivo Y1S supports MicroUSB, unfortunately, so it’s normal 10W charging. Needless to say, there is also no wireless charging. On the flip side, it comes with a decent Li-Po 4030mAh non-removable battery. It can get fully charged in just over 1 hour. Despite being a budget phone, the addition of the fairly quick chipset & big battery really does turntables for this device. It truly is a beautiful device to look at. There is no NFC for contactless payments but we have FM radio. It comes in Aurora Blue and Olive Black
