The phone has 6/8GB RAM and 128GB which is expandable. It also runs on Android 11 with One UI 3.1 and is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery with 15W fast charging.

The Samsung Galaxy M42 5G measures 164.4 x 75.9 x 8.6 mm (height x width x thickness) with a total weight of 190 grams. Coming to cameras, it has a triple 48MP + 8MP + 5MP + 2MP rear camera and a 20 MP front camera for selfies. This phone has a 6.5-inch (2400 x 1080 pixels) FHD+ Super AMOLED Display, and 266 PPI. It has a USB Type-C port for data syncing and charging. There is a fingerprint sensor present on the Galaxy M42 5G (under display, optical).

This phone, the Samsung Galaxy M42 5G was released on 2021, May 01. It is a Dual SIM smartphone that uses Nano-SIM and has dual stand-by or Hybrid Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by). On the front is an Infinity-U notch wherein the selfie camera lies. Its back panel has a quad-camera module on the right-hand side. As for the fingerprint scanner, it is under the display, optical.

The Galaxy M42 5G comes in the colors Prism Dot Black, and Prism Dot Gray. It makes use of the USB Type-C 2.0, USB On-The-Go, and has no 3.5 mm jack.
