Realme 9i
The Realme 9i is a new midrange, with a great value proposition. It packs a very fast Snapdragon 680 chipset, a huge 6.6-inch LCD 90Hz screen, a great 50MP camera, a huge 5000 mAh battery, 33W fast charging, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. At its price, it’s truly a great bargain.
Design
The Realme 9i comes with a 6.6-inch LCD screen with a punch-hole design for the selfie camera. It’s a massive screen, hardly a one-handed operation, with a screen-to-body ratio of 84.2%. It has a refresh rate of 90Hz refresh rate, an aspect ratio of 20:9, and supports HD10+ which makes it an absolute delight to consume media with.
It has a plastic frame and back, and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 front panel. It is quite bright and vivid, peaking at 480 nits. It’s not rated for dust and splash protection, but it’s certainly splashproof. It has a physical fast fingerprint sensor, conveniently placed on its side, integrated into the power button. It supports stereo speakers, which are great for playing media, and has a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Performance
The Realme 9i brings in the heat with the midrange Snapdragon 680 chipset, making it very quiet fast, even when gaming. It has a Kyro Octa-core CPU paired with an Adreno 610 GPU, with storage options of 4 or 6 GB for RAM & 64 or 128 GB for ROM. It also does come with an expandable memory option, which is a plus. Paired with the 90Hz screen, running the latest Android 11 with a Realme UI 2.0 skin on top, the performance feels fast and premium. No lags or slow transitions on this one. Everything feels fast, fluid, and rich in color.
Cameras
The Realme 9i has a triple camera arrangement on the back. It comes with a huge 50 MP primary sensor, for those excellent daylight photos. There is a 2MP macro telephoto lens for those nice, close-up photos. It also has a 2MP depth sensor for portraits and bokeh effects. The video can support up to 1080p video at 120 fps, with HDR support & gyro-EIS stability assistance. The selfie camera is a generous 16MP wide sensor, capable of 1080p video at 30fps. The selfies are great and well-lit.
Other features
The Realme 9i comes with 33W fast charging, which can get the phone fully charged in a little over an hour (70 mins). In addition to the fact that it also comes with a Li-Po 5000mAh non-removable battery, which is rather generous, the phone offers great screen time, enough to last past a day. Even with the high refresh rate screen, this should be more than enough. The main concession would be that there is no wireless charging here. It however does not support NFC for contactless paying. It comes in Black, and Blue
