Samsung Galaxy A71 in Kenya

The Samsung Galaxy A71 came hot on the heels of the Samsung Galaxy A51 launch towards the end of 2019. And they certainly have basic inspirations, especially in design. On the inside though, it’s bigger, better, and faster. It’s certainly one of the topmost midrange-priced phones in the market today and here’s why. Buy the latest Samsung Galaxy A73 from Phonesstore.

Screen and design of the Samsung Galaxy A71

The Samsung Galaxy A71 comes with the large 6.7 inches super AMOLED Plus touchscreen, with the Infinity O design which lets the selfie camera lay on a punch hole at the top middle of the display. The body-to-screen ratio is at a premium 87.2%, certainly in the regions of the flagships. It has a PPI density of 393 which maxes out at 500 nits screen brightness. It comes with Corning Gorilla 3 protection, blends into the middle hardened plastic frame and blends into the plastic back. Here, it features a 4 camera setup, with the fingerprint sensor missing as the biometrics on board are the optical under-display fingerprint scanner and face unlock. At the bottom of the screen is the bottom-firing speaker, a USB-C charging port, and, gladly, the elusive 3.5mm headphone jack. It weighs in at 179g and is 7.7mm thick.

Performance

The Samsung Galaxy A71 comes with the top-tier mid-range chip, the snapdragon 730 supported by an octa-core 2.2GHz Kyro 470 CPU and an Adreno 618 GPU. The memory configurations come in 6/8GB RAM with the internal space being 128GB. Onboard is still a dedicated microSDXC memory card that expands the memory by about 1T. This is certainly big-league performance specifications by all parameters, even for the most intense memory user. It is certainly one of the very top phones within the midrange phone segments.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy A71 comes with a more impressive quad camera setup, starting off with the massive 64mp wide primary sensor, a 12mp ultra-wide lens, a dedicated 5mp shooter, and a 5mp depth sensor. The photos are top of the range, well pixelated, very rich in color, and sharp. The portrait and bokeh edge-detection software and distancing capabilities look very sharp and accurate, easily rivaling the larger professional DSLR cameras. It can shoot 4K UHD video in 30fps, 2k in 30fps, full HD in 240fps, and 720p in 960fps, all with gyro electronic image stabilization. It supports HDR and panorama, in addition to other modes. The selfie comes with a generous 32mp shooter, making it one of the better midranges out there. The selfies are very good and clear, irrespective of lighting or other environmental conditions. It supports HDR and shoots 1080p video at 30fps.

Battery

The Samsung Galaxy A71 comes with a bigger 4500mAh nonremovable Li-Po battery, now getting even more daylight hours without needing to charge the phone, despite the Samsung Galaxy A71 being a guaranteed power user. To mitigate that, it also has an improved 25W fast charging, with brick and USB-C cable coming with the box. The phone fills up in a little under 2 hours, which is great, all things considered. Its endurance rating stands at 102 hours, which is better than Infinix Note 7 with its smaller battery.

Software

The Samsung Galaxy A71 comes with Android 10 straight out of the box with Samsung’s One UI 2 slapped on top. It certainly feels very smooth and fluid, with absolutely no lag or drop in frame rates. The One UI 2 is also certainly better looking, without the unnecessary bloatware of the yesteryears. The additional apps embedded within the UI are also a joy to use, something Samsung’s software ecosystem is famed for.

The Samsung Galaxy A71 is undoubtedly a force to contend with, with it being a midrange by name only, but feeling like a flagship nonetheless. It lacks no sensor you can think of but has no IP rating for dust or water. It certainly is splash-proof though. It comes in Prism, Crush Black, Silver, Blue, and Pink.
