Nokia G11 Plus

The Nokia G11 Plus is a new budget phone, with a great value proposition. It packs a very fast Unisoc T606 chipsets, a huge 6.52-inch 90Hz IPS LCD screen, a generous 50MP primary camera, a huge 5000 mAh battery, 15W standard charging, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. At its price, it’s truly a great bargain.

Design

The Nokia G11 Plus comes with a 6.52-inch 90Hz IPS LCD screen with a dew drop design for the selfie camera. It has a screen-to-body ratio of 81.6% and is quite bright and vivid, peaking at 450 nits with an aspect ratio of 20:9, and supports HD10+ which makes it an absolute delight to consume media with. It has a plastic frame and back, and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 front panel. It comes with a radio and, fortunately, a headphone jack. It has a physical fast fingerprint sensor, conveniently placed on the rear, for easier access. It has a downward-firing speaker, which is great for playing media.

Performance

The Nokia G11 Plus comes with the budget Unisoc T606 4G chipset, making it very fast and decent for gaming. It has a Cortex Octa-core 1.6GHz CPU paired with a Mali G57 MP1 GPU, with storage options of 4GB for 64GB for ROM. It also comes with a dedicated expandable memory option, which is a plus. Running the latest stock Android 11, the performance feels very fast and premium. No lags or slow transitions on this one. Everything feels fast, fluid, and rich in color.

Cameras

The Nokia G11 Plus has a triple camera arrangement on the back. It comes with a decent 50MP wide primary sensor, for those excellent daylight photos. There is an extra 2MP depth sensor to add bokeh or portrait effect on the photos and a 2MP lens for macro photos. The video can support 1080p video at 30 fps, with HDR support & gyro-EIS stability assistance. The selfie camera is a decent 5MP wide sensor, capable of 1080p video at 30fps. The selfies are great and well-lit.

Other features

The Nokia G11 Plus has no fast charging, which means it charges at basic 15W, which can get the phone fully charged in about an hour. That’s fairly usable. That in addition to the fact that it also comes with a Li-Po 5000mAh non-removable battery, which is rather generous. Even with a power user, this should be more than enough. Of course, there is no wireless charging here. It supports NFC for contactless paying. It comes in Charcoal and Blue.

Similarly, priced phones would include Tecno Pova Neo, Nokia G21, the Oppo A16K, and Realme C25Y. the main distinction at this price point is often a choice of a better camera or more memory. The sizes are usually standard and the batteries are often huge. It’s unlikely there are wireless charging options as the price is too competitive.

The design is great, in addition to the many cameras and 90Hz high refresh rate screen. The OS is a stock android, which offers the least bloatware of all android skins.
