Infinix Zero 8i

Hong Kong-based smartphone maker Infinix announced the Infinix Zero 8i smartphone in Kenya. The Zero 8i is expected to be priced at 25,500 Kenya shillings for the 8GB + 128GB storage configuration version. Interested customers can pick it up in Silver Diamond, or Black Diamond color options.

The Infinix Zero 8i measures 168.7 x 76.1 x 9.1 (height x width x thickness) with a total weight of 205 grams. Coming to cameras, it has a quad 48 MP rear camera and a dual 16 MP front camera for selfies. This phone has a 6.85 inches, 1080 x 2460 pixels IPS LCD display with a pixel density of 392 PPI. It has a Type-C 1.0 port for data syncing and charging. There is a fingerprint sensor present on the Infinix Zero 8i. It is a dual SIM smartphone with support for 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and GPS too.

Launch

This phone, Infinix Zero 8i was released in 2020, December 09. This phone has 168.7 x 76.1 x 9.1 mm dimensions and weighs about 210.5 grams. It is also a Dual SIM smartphone that uses Nano-SIM and has a dual standby. On the front is a hole punch display wherein the dual selfie camera lies. Its back panel has a single camera module on the right-hand side. As for the fingerprint scanner, the one on this phone is side-mounted on the power button.

Infinix Zero 8i comes in the colors Silver Diamond, and Black Diamond. It makes use of the 2.0Type-C 1.0 reversible connector, and has a 3.5 mm jack. The phone also has Bluetooth version 5.0, A2DP, LE, and GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS. It also supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot. Network

The Infinix Zero 8i smartphone supports four network technologies. These are GSM, HSPA, and LTE. HSPA extends and improves the performance of existing 3G mobile telecommunication networks using the WCDMA protocols. LTE  is a standard for wireless broadband communication for mobile devices and data terminals, based on the GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSPA technologies.

Infinix Zero 8i display

Now, let us take a look at the display this phone has to offer. Everyone loves a good display on a phone for obvious reasons. Namely, the display is the one part of a phone you will ever interact with. Infinix Zero 8i has a brilliant display panel that measures 6.85 inches,111.4 cm2. It is an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen that supports 16M colors and multi-touch.

This display has a fair 1080 x 2460 pixels resolution and an equally fair 392 PPI density. As for the selfie camera, it is inside that hole punch on the top right corner. This phone’s build is glass with a Glass front (Gorilla Glass 3), and plastic back, plastic frame. Infinix Zero 8i’s display is also graced with a 90Hz refresh rate.

Platform

A phone platform is the hardware/software environment for tablets, smartphones, and other portable devices. Infinix Zero 8i runs on the Android 10 operating system. Android 10 is the tenth major release and the 17th version of the Android mobile operating system. Also powering Infinix Zero 8i is an Octa-core (2×2.05 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55), Mediatek MT6785 Helio G90T chipset.

Under the hood, it also brings a Mali-G76 MC4 GPU. The ARM Mali-G76 MP4 is an integrated high-end graphics card for ARM-based SoCs (mostly Android-based). It was introduced in 2019 in the Mediatek G90 and G90T (e.g Infinix Note 8– source. The Infinix Zero 8i comes with 128 GB of internal storage with 8GB of RAM. You can still expand its storage using a dedicated micro SD slot.

Cameras

There are six cameras on Infinix Zero 8i. They are made up of a main 48 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide), 1/1.72″, 0.8µm, an 8 MP f/2.3, 13mm (ultrawide), 1/4.0″, 1.12µm, a 2 MP, f/2.4, (macro) and a 2 MP B/W, f/2.4, (depth). Its main feature is LED flash, HDR, and panorama and it can shoot video up to 4K@30fps with the main camera but 1080p@30fps with the selfie. Battery

Infinix Zero 8i has a non-removable Li-Po 4,500 mAh battery. This battery lasts long gives its 4500 mAh capacity despite having a high performing Mediatek MT6785 Helio G90T chipset.
